| Magnetic Sunglasses Hook
for my Ioniq 5 Mark D Larsen March 25, 2024 |
One feature I miss in my previous LEAF is the compartment it had for storing sunglasses up on the ceiling near the overhead lights. My Model 3 didn’t have any such compartment, so I had to stick my sunglasses in the center console instead. Of course, with all the other paraphernalia in there, the lenses ended up getting scratched and blurred.
Unfortunately, my Ioniq 5 doesn’t have a specific compartment for sunglasses either. I had already purchased a pair of wrap-around sunglasses that fit over my eyeglasses and were non-polarized so that I could clearly see the heads up display on the car’s windshield. I didn’t want them to end up scratched either!
I was thus happy to find that “The Ioniq Guy” had created a clever solution that takes advantage of the magnetic pad to the left of the binnacle screen. It consists of a hook, with a metal backing for the magnet, that accommodates the nose bridge of glasses. It is admittedly a very minor, kinda silly accessory, but… I am glad to now have it!
