I received my Ph.D. in Spanish from Yale University in 1980, and subsequently taught at Wittenberg University in Ohio, Albion College in Michigan, and Utah State University. I am now Emeritus Professor of Spanish at the latter institution.

Although my main interest has always been Latin American literature and culture, I also develop computer applications for the language profession —as one can surmise from the products I have created.
